The purposes for which WAPAF is formed are:
- To educate members on program integrity efforts relating to public assistance programs through prevention, detection, investigation, recovery of improper payments, and prosecution of public assistance fraud.
- To further member's knowledge of the administrative, civil and criminal law relating to public assistance fraud.
- To promote legislation beneficial to the prevention, detection, prosecution and recovery of improper payments relating to fraud in public assistance programs.
- To establish and maintain strong relationships between all agencies responsible for program integrity and fraud activities in public assistance programs.
- To educate the public on program integrity efforts relating to public assistance programs through prevention, detection, investigation, recovery of improper payments, and prosecution of public assistance fraud. Said Association is organized exclusively for education, and including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations under Section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of corresponding section of any future tax code.
